On the stage you’re gonna see a lot of one color in particular. I write a lot of songs about my feelings, first of all, and I try to compare them to things. I try to come up with different metaphors and analogies. Somewhere along the way, I compared how I was feeling to colors. For example, blue would be sadness, grey would be loneliness, but there’s one color in particular that really represented the kinds of emotions that I’d been writing lots of songs about lately. I’ve been writing songs about very intense, semi-toxic, wonderful, terrible, incredible, awful emotions when we fall in and out of love. I was thinking about what would be the one color that would represent these emotions…. I think the color that I would choose to represent those emotions would be bright, burning… red.
